Meet Tanner Wenzel

Meet Tanner Wenzel pushed my ability to create a persona for an individual so he would be more likely to land a potential girlfriend. This meant creatively designing him in a way that both accurately showcased who he is as a person and how those attributes could physically manifest themselves in a variety of collatoral.

The best way I found was through his sense of humor. Tanner is always cracking jokes and making people laugh or at least smile, so I felt it was necessary to have his identity reflect that humor as well as delve into who he is as a person, a student, and his career goals. I did this by pulling direct quotes from his twitter and using them on business cards, designing a cardboard cut out that could occupy space and hold flyers that would attract females to the bar he works at, and a series of coasters that act as a drink holder and pick-up note pad.

Probably my favorite part of this project was producing an environmental graphic of an apron that Tanner could physically wear once the business card, cut out, and coasters allowed women to get to know him. A project this layered helped me to appreciate the complexity of good design and the depth of story telling within each concept designers create.
